Mood Boards

Mood boards are critical to visual storytelling and creating the content that you need, based on the content that inspires you. To ensure that a brand and photographer are on the same page from the beginning, mood boards are the ideal way to communicate the direction for a particular shoot. Photo shoots may not be as productive without a concept in mind, so a mood board can act as a project rubric with clear directions. When a photographer asks what your brand is looking for, presenting a mood board will demonstrate the desired outcome.

Interior Mood Board

This mood board incorporates light and airy greens and pastel color schemes. My intention was to dream up a space that creates an experience for customers, combining the new and the old with the incorporation of fresh greenery, antiques, and galvanized metals. The vision of the space needed to encapsulate the company's devotion to clean products, with an emphasis on freshness and natural light. I then sourced the items to bring it to life with my mood board as inspiration. Not only did I visualize the space, but I traveled around New England to procure the antique items and decor that matched the vision.

City Mood Board

This beautiful lifestyle board is a completely different, neutral color scheme of beige, tan, cream, and light blues. The photos incorporate a combination of direct sun on the subject and backlit lighting to keep the photos light and fresh. Keeping the subject in focus with a blurred background allows for the outfits to pop against the neutral city scape. The shoot would also be strategically coordinated for the outfits to match the city backdrop with warm tones. This would also create a versatile, playful yet elegant set of photos with the blend of candid and posed shots.

Farm Lifestyle Mood Board

This lifestyle mood board tells the story of living on a farm, also utilizing a trendy, light and airy green color scheme. This shoot demonstrates the enjoyment and benefits of self-sufficiency and sustainability. It also captures the beauty of maintaining a garden and the feeling of pride that accompanies taking care of something.
